Coast Hotels expands Okanagan offerings with new build property in Oliver, BC

MODULAR BUILT HOTEL WILL OPEN FOR BUSINESS IN MAY 2018
Vancouver, B.C. – Vancouver based Coast Hotels is expanding its Okanagan region offerings with the addition of a brand new property in Oliver, British Columbia. This new build will be located in the town dubbed the ‘Wine Capital of Canada’ near the south end of Canada’s famed Okanagan Valley and wine region, that is only 25 kilometers north of the US border.
The new property complements the brand’s strong B.C. presence and it’s existing locations in Kelowna, Penticton and Osoyoos, providing travellers with the opportunity for complete Okanagan experiences and itineraries.
The branding of the hotel will be done with Mundi Hotel Enterprises Inc. who purchased the lot from the Town of Oliver. President and leading industry veteran Ron Mundi selected Coast Hotels for its winning combination of friendly service and exceptional guest value, as well as brand delivery track record. Mundi Hotel Enterprises Inc. currently has two Coast branded properties in Kamloops and Lethbridge and owns a further five hotels.

The addition of the new Oliver property builds on the brand’s strength in its home province bringing its total to 36 properties in Western North America covering two provinces, two territories and five US states. “We’re delighted to again partner with Mundi Hotel Enterprises Inc. to welcome guests to a new Okanagan destination,” said Victor Komoda, president of Coast Hotels. “Expanding our footprint in the popular Okanagan wine region will add value to our customer base” continued Komoda.
Oliver Town Council unanimously approved the new hotel on the site. “This investment will support revitalization of the downtown and have economic spinoff benefits for the broader community” said Mayor Ron Hovanes. “Mundi Hotel Enterprises Inc. and Coast Hotels truly celebrate local destinations, so we are looking forward to seeing the property embrace the character and authenticity of our community” Hovanes added.
The Coast Oliver hotel will feature 80 bedrooms, an indoor pool, breakfast room and future restaurant, and will offer guests Coast Hotels brand standards like triple sheeting and complimentary high-speed in-room Wi-Fi. Construction is slated to start October 2017 with a planned opening in May 2018. The quick-to-market timeline is possible through modular construction, which will be done by Horizon North Logistics, a leader in the modular construction industry.
Oliver, British Columbia is a small agricultural community known as the “Wine Capital of Canada”. The town was born following the First World War with a plan to irrigate the semi-arid South Okanagan and turn it into a viable fruit-growing region. Today people throng to the area to visit its wineries. The area’s natural attractions draw people for bird watching, water activities, hiking, mountain biking, golf, fishing and winter activities, as does Oliver’s charming small town atmosphere.
